Matthew 5:16 “Shine On!”
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.
Thank God you are alive! Thank God you live in America! Thank God you live in freedom! Thank God for grace! Thank God you have your health!
When you really think about all the blessings God has given to your life, how could you not be thankful? Your life is going to be anything and everything you choose to make it. Each day, you give your best. Whether you feel good or not, buck up and give it your best shot. That’s what builds positive habits, or what God calls the harvest of positive habits, “Good Works.”
So how do you acknowledge God’s glory in your life? You simply make it a priority to acknowledge God when you are recognized for your works, “God has certainly blessed me” or “By the grace of God I was fortunate.” You’ll find your own approach, but the important part is you acknowledge God as the source of every blessing in your life.
Then when someone asks, “Why do you always credit God for your success,” you simply answer, “Life is short and I know every day is a test to see if I can stay focused on what matters,” and when they ask what matters, answer, “That both of us accept God’s grace and accept Jesus’ forgiveness and eternal life in heaven! It sure beats the alternative, huh?” It’s a simple way to plant the seeds of other people’s chance to have eternal life. I can’t imagine a better feeling than knowing you’re keeping one person from spending eternity in hell, can you?
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
